Into the Unkown Dev log 7 (Back to Work!)

Hello everyone,

I’m back from my holiday and excited to return to work! While I was away, I took some time to re-evaluate the content planned for the end of August update. As a result, a few things that were previously announced will be postponed, and a few new items will be added instead.

First off, the random encounter table for First Steps will not be released this month. I simply haven’t had enough time to work on it, and I’d rather take the time to do it properly than release something half-finished.

Work on Act 5 is still progressing, and I still plan to release it in the end-of-September update, as originally intended.

Murphy’s Field Guide will receive a reworked and reformatted equipment section, which was long overdue. This is largely an updated version of the 5E material, but it’s also part of my broader effort to make Into the Unknown accessible and enjoyable to players of all experience levels. As part of that overhaul, I’m also introducing a brand-new subsection on grenades and explosives, which is exactly what it sounds like.

I’m hoping to release 5th-level powers this month, but, being honest, that currently seems unlikely, the deeper I get into the 5E spell list, the more balanced, original powers I need to design, which takes time. I’ll also be including a reworked version of the 5E spell-casting rules that better fit within the setting.

In addition to all of this, you can expect additional feats, backgrounds, and enhanced items in this update as well.
