Into the Unknown 5E: First Steps Demo

Into the Unknown is set in a post-apocalyptic galaxy, devastated by a psionic force known only as the Invaders. You play as a crew originating from the Endurance space station, the last hope of the Alliance, and it is dying. You are the only ones who can save it.

Into the Unknown: First Steps follows a crew of outcasts, survivors, and rejects as they attempt to secure the last hope the galaxy has left: the Endurance.  Along the way, you will face dangerous foes from a rogue A.I attempting to "perfect" organic life, to a lost, abandoned soldier who has only one desire to butcher and maim.  

This demo explores Act 1-The Dying Core and Act 2- Distress Signal Enabled

Act 1 covers the events leading to the crew's departure. A day that starts normally but ends in a sabotage that will change the fate of the galaxy. Act 2 is the crew's first away mission as they explore an old shipwreck looking for evidence of a surviving settlement in the void, but find themselves becoming the prey of a deadly hunter.

All Into the Unknown books are currently unillustrated. As I’m not an artist, and I don’t feel comfortable using AI-generated art, I’ve chosen to focus on writing and design first.

One day, I hope to commission artwork that reflects the tone of the setting,  something that feels aged, forgotten, and water-damaged. The final visual style will be intentionally distressed: blotchy, faded, and drained of most colour, like a relic uncovered in a ruined archive.

I hope you enjoy surviving in this galaxy as much as I enjoyed building it.
